Milan Al-Ashhab

Milan Al-Ashhab won in the prestigious International violin competition Fritz Kreisler in Vienna (2018), he is also a winner of New York Concert Artists and Associates Worldwide Debut Audition (New York, 2018) and is a laureate of Tchaikovsky competition in Moscow (2019). He also won first prizes in the International violin competition of Georga Philippa Telemanna in Poznań (2007) and in the International violin competition of Jaroslav Kocian in Ústí nad Orlicí (2006). He is a winner of Classic Prague Awards 2018 (talent of the year category), got an award Personality of Ústí region for year 2018 in culture, Bauše Ruysová Prize, Josef Hlávka Prize etc.

He has performed accompanied by many Czech and foreign orchestras (ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Moscow Symphonic Orchestra, Hofer Symphoniker, L'armonia terrena, PKF, SOČR etc.) and he regularly performs in evening concerts with prominent Czech pianist and composer Adam Skoumal. Together they performed recitals in Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra Concert Hall, in Merkin Hall in New York, in Vienna Musikverein or festivals Class Class (Spain), Prague Spring, in Mendelssohn festival in Switzerland etc. 

He graduated from violin in Conservatory in Teplice (in the class of professor Květoslava Hasilová) and from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (in the class of professor Ivan Štraus). Since 2019 he has continued in studies (under the leadership of professor Peter Schuhmayer) at Univesität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna.

He has also participated in masterclasses with famous personalities, for example Pinchas Zukerman, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Hagai Shaham, Shlomo Mintz or Ida Haendel. 

Milan Al-Ashhab plays on a precious Italian instrument of Nicola Amati (Cremona, 1662), which he had borrowed from a Swiss organisation Maggini-Stiftung.
