Our conducting masterclass offers a unique opportunity to study two major works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart that are closely connected with the city of Prague. The masterclass will begin at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where individual lessons and musical rehearsals with soloists accompanied by piano will take place.
The third day of the masterclass will be dedicated to a visit to the Estates Theatre (Stavovské divadlo)—the historic venue where the opera Don Giovanni premiered in 1787—followed by transportation to the city of Ústí nad Labem.
The second part of the masterclass will consist of four rehearsals with the Orchestra of the North Czech Theatre, followed by a general rehearsal and a final concert conducted by all active participants.
Each candidate is required to prepare the full published programme of the masterclass.
Applicants must submit the completed form together with an attached video recording (minimum length 5 minutes) of themselves conducting a concert or opera. Both rehearsal and performance videos are acceptable.
After confirmation of participation, all successful applicants, both active and passive, will receive accommodation options in both cities.
The tuition fee covers all costs directly related to the masterclass, including the guided tour of the Estates Theatre and transport from Prague to Ústí nad Labem on October 19.
Travel costs, health insurance and accommodation are NOT included in the tuition fee.
