The European Music Academy, founded in 2007 in the city of Teplice, is located in a renowned spa resort where Goethe once met Beethoven, and where Liszt as well as numerous other distinguished figures—including the Austrian and German emperors—enjoyed medical treatments, concerts, opera, and theatrical performances.
Our program offers international workshops for advanced conducting and singing students, as well as young professionals. Rehearsals, concerts, and opera productions are held at the House of Culture, the Krušnohorské Theatre, or the Garden House in Teplice.
Participants have the opportunity to work with a full-sized professional orchestra, the North Czech Philharmonic Teplice, under the guidance of internationally acclaimed lecturers.
At present, we also organise specialised opera projects in cooperation with the North Bohemian Theatre in Ústí nad Labem and the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň , along with special workshop projects in collaboration with the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
Over the years, the European Music Academy has built strong international partnerships with leading educational institutions. Among our long-term collaborators are the University of British Columbia in Vancouver (UBC), the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), and the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo (NMH). These partnerships allow us to connect young conductors and singers with a vibrant international network and foster artistic exchange across borders.
